Rosie’s experience
Rosie is a psychologist with a Master of Clinical Psychology from the University of Newcastle. She works with adults experiencing a range of emotional and psychological difficulties. Alongside her work at Lacuna, Rosie is also part of the NSW Health Community Mental Health Team where she focuses much of her work on supporting people with eating disorders and borderline personality disorder.
Rosie has previously worked at the Residential Eating Disorder Service and during Rosie’s postgraduate training she facilitated DBT skills training groups to support people with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) at the Centre for Psychotherapy (NSW Health).
Rosie’s approach to therapy
Rosie supports people with a wide variety of psychological difficulties. She believes lasting change begins with understanding the whole person, not just their symptoms. She takes time to understand each client's experiences within the context of their relationships, life history and the broader systems that have shaped them.
Her approach is warm, collaborative, compassionate and emotion focused. Together, Rosie helps clients explore emotional patterns, coping strategies and self-beliefs while building the emotional resilience needed to respond to life's challenges with greater flexibility and self-compassion.
Rosie is certified in CBT-E which is an individualised treatment approach to address the psychological factors that maintain eating disorders.
A little more about Rosie
While psychology is one of Rosie’s passions, she likes to keep busy outside of the clinical space. On her days off, you’ll most likely find her curled up with her kitten and reading a good book, catching up over coffee with friends, or spending quality time with her family. To recharge her own battery, she loves heading to the gym or doing something creative.
