Rosie’s experience
Rosie is a Clinical Psychology Registrar with a background in both the public and private sectors, having spent the majority of her career and training within public health. She completed a Masters of Professional Psychology at the University of Newcastle, before going on to complete her Masters of Clinical Psychology. She has experience working in acute mental health and specialist services for eating disorders. Rosie splits her time between Lacuna and her role with the Newcastle Adult Community Mental Health Team. She is deeply passionate about walking alongside clients as they understand the many ways we learn to respond to our emotions. Rosie holds a special interest in supporting individuals navigating eating disorders, trauma responses, anger, self-harm, and difficulties with emotion regulation.

Rosie’s approach to therapy
Rosie believes in looking at the whole picture, focusing on understanding an individual’s difficulties or “symptoms” within the greater context of their unique life experiences and the broader systems they live in. A central part of her therapeutic process is helping clients gently identify the patterns that show up in response to their emotions, specific situations, or internal self-talk. She collaborates with clients to safely reshape these patterns, always grounding the work in curiosity and kindness rather than judgment. While she warmly encourages clients to draw upon their existing strengths, Rosie also believes that any skill can be developed over time, and that it’s truly never too late to learn.

A little more about Rosie
While psychology is one of Rosie’s passions, she likes to keep busy outside of the clinical space. On her days off, you’ll most likely find her curled up with her kitten and reading a good book, catching up over coffee with friends, or spending quality time with her family. To recharge her own battery, she loves heading to the gym or doing something creative.
