Shana’s experience
Shana is a Clinical Psychologist with experience across hospital, university and private practice settings. She completed her Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Technology Sydney.
Shana has supported people experiencing a wide range of difficulties, both in private practice and through the UTS counselling service. Before moving to Newcastle, she worked across private practice and Liverpool Hospital’s gastroenterology service, supporting patients experiencing mood and anxiety difficulties, irritable bowel syndrome, health-related trauma, and the challenges of adjusting to chronic illness.
Shana’s approach to therapy
Shana takes an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on a range of evidence-based treatments, including Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
She works collaboratively with clients to understand the difficulties they are experiencing, identify what they would like to change, and work towards meaningful goals.
A little more about Shana
Outside of work, Shana enjoys being active and spending time outdoors. She enjoys camping, bushwalking, and getting out into nature, as well as spending time with her dog, Basil.
